This policy explains what information Tickled collects, why we use it, who sees it, and what you can do about it. Tickled is an 18+ app for one-on-one video and audio calls, and this policy covers the app and this website. It is written under Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. It goes together with our Terms of Use.
1.Who we are
Tickled decides why and how your information is used. In the words of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the “data fiduciary”. You can reach us at support@tickled.in or on +91 97911 28911.
2.What we collect
What you give us
- When you sign up: your phone number, confirmation that you are 18 or older, a name or nickname, your language choices, and a profile photo if you add one. We may ask for proof of age.
- When you join the waitlist: your email address.
- When you apply to host on this website: the name on your profile, your email, your age, your country, the languages you speak, if you have hosted or streamed before, the hours you can give each week, and a few lines about yourself. Your phone number, city and a link to your Instagram or another page are optional.
- When you become a host: a secure check of your government ID, a live selfie, your PAN, and your bank or UPI details. We collect these in the verification step after your application is looked at, never on the application form on this website.
- When you write to us: what you send, and anything you attach.
What we record as you use Tickled
- Your coin balance and purchases: the amount, the time and the result. The payment itself is handled by a payment provider or an app store, so we don’t keep your full card number.
- Your calls: who you called, when, for how long, whether it was video or audio, the rate, and the coins spent. Also the gifts you send and receive.
- Your chats: the messages you send and receive in the app, and reviews, reports and blocks.
- Which version of the Terms and this policy you accepted, and when, with the IP address and device you used.
What comes from your device
- Your IP address, device model, operating system, app version, and language, plus crash reports and a token for sending you notifications.
- An approximate location, such as your country or city, worked out from your IP address.
About calls. We do not record calls as a routine. If a call is reported or flagged, we may keep a short clip or image of it as evidence (see “Safety and moderation” below).
3.How we use it
We use your information to:
- sign you in and run your account;
- connect calls and chats, and take coins by the minute;
- check that everyone is 18 or older, and that hosts are who they say they are;
- pay hosts, and keep the records that tax and accounting law asks for;
- keep Tickled safe: deal with reports, stop fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms;
- answer your questions and fix problems;
- tell you about your application, and tell people on the waitlist when Tickled opens;
- understand how the app is used so we can fix and improve it; and
- meet our legal duties.
We ask for your consent when the law needs it, and we use your information without asking only for the lawful reasons the law lists, such as meeting a legal duty or responding to an emergency. You can withdraw consent whenever you like (see “Your rights” below).
4.Who sees it
- Other people on Tickled see what you choose to show on your profile, such as your nickname, photo and languages, and whatever you say or send in a call or chat. Your phone number is used to sign you in and isn’t shown to other people on Tickled.
- Our team sees only what each person needs for their job: moderators, support, finance, and the people who review host applications and verification.
- Companies that help us run Tickled, for example for hosting and storage, video and audio calling, sending SMS codes, payments, identity checks, crash reports and support. They may use your information only to do that work for us.
- Authorities and courts, when the law requires it or when it is needed to protect someone’s safety or our rights.
- A new owner, if Tickled is ever sold or merged. We would tell you, and this policy would still protect your information.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising.
5.Safety and moderation
To keep people safe, a moderator may watch or listen to a call that has been reported or flagged, and automated tools may check small parts of calls for rule breaking. When that happens we may keep a short clip or image as evidence, and we keep it only as long as we need it to deal with the report, protect people, or meet the law. Our Terms explain the rules.
6.Age
Tickled is for people who are 18 or older, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If we find that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and delete the information. If you think a child is using Tickled, please tell us at support@tickled.in.
7.How long we keep it
We keep information only for as long as we need it for the reasons in this policy, or for as long as the law says we must. After that we delete it or remove what identifies you.
- Some records, such as payments, payouts and verification, are kept for the time that tax, accounting and other laws require.
- If you ask us to delete your account, we remove what we are not required to keep.
- Host applications we don’t take forward are deleted or made anonymous when we no longer need them.
8.Keeping it safe
- Information is encrypted while it travels between your device and our servers.
- Access inside Tickled is limited by role, and the most sensitive records, such as ID documents, are available to very few people.
- We take care of the companies we work with, and we ask them to protect your information too.
No system is perfectly safe. Please keep your phone and your one-time codes to yourself. If you notice something wrong, tell us straight away. If there is a data breach that affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
9.Your rights and choices
You can ask us to:
- tell you what information of yours we hold, and how we use it;
- correct or update information that is wrong or out of date;
- delete your information and your account;
- stop using your information for a purpose you agreed to. You can withdraw consent at any time. This does not affect what we did before, and some features, such as calls, can’t work without the information they need;
- send your information to a person you name, if something happens to you.
Write to support@tickled.in from the phone number or email you use with Tickled, so we know it is you. We may need to check your identity first. You can switch notifications off in your phone’s settings.
If you are not happy with how we handled your request, tell us and give us the chance to put it right. If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
10.Where it is stored
The companies that help us may store or process information on servers in India or in other countries. When information leaves India, we send it only where the law allows.
11.This website
- The website doesn’t set advertising or tracking cookies at the moment, and has no analytics. If that changes, we will say so here and ask for your consent first where the law needs it.
- When you send the host application, we use your IP address for a short time to stop one person from sending the form over and over. We don’t keep it with your application.
- Our hosting provider keeps ordinary technical logs of visits, such as the time of a request and the page asked for.
- If we add links to other websites, they have their own policies. We are not responsible for them.
12.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app or by email, and where the law needs your consent, we will ask for it again.
13.Contact and complaints
- Email: support@tickled.in
- Phone: +91 97911 28911
For a privacy complaint, put “Grievance” in the subject line and address it to the Grievance Officer, Tickled. We will confirm that we have it and tell you what we are doing about it.
